Community Engagement Center to Help Train Teachers and Integrate Technology into School Curriculum
(State of Nuevo Leon, MEXICO) - In January 2007, EarthWalk Communications, Inc. was invited by the National Council for Community Education Partnership - Mexico A.C (NCCEP-Mexico A.C) to showcase their technology as part of the National Center for School Improvement and Community Engagement Project in Monterrey, Mexico. Since then, EarthWalk has established a permanent learning center in Monterrey to help train teachers to integrate technology into school curriculum. The learning center consists of several mobile labs configured with Science, Math and English as a second language interactive software. The Community Engagement Center will also serve as an educational platform to further Education Technology initiatives and programs in the State of Nuevo Leon and throughout Mexico. To further support the children of Mexico, EarthWalk donated 410 laptops and 20 computer labs to be used in underserved rural areas of Mexico to enhance HIV/AIDS awareness. The inauguration of the Community Engagement Center is slated for August 2007.
