Description: Resolving Wireless Connectivity Issues and Signal Booster Installation
                 for eBuddy 8.6 Semi-rugged Laptop
Product:      SmartCart 16
Date:         12.01.06
Before you proceed with the Signal Booster Installation you should furst try to resolve the wireless issue with the following steps. If this does not resolve your wireless issues then you should proceed with the "Signal Booster Installation for your mobile cart.

Wireless Connection Configuration Procedures
According to our research, the EB-8.6 will drop wireless connection if the Microsoft XO "zero" configuration utility is being used. The user needs to specify that the config2500 is the utility to be used. XP also has a setting that will default to the XP "zero" configuration utility upon restarting, and so another setting also needs to be changed to prevent this from happening.

Please follow the below instructions to do so. If this does not correct the wireless connectivity problem please proceed to the "Signal Booster Installation Instruction" link (PDF) below.

1.) Right-click on the “Config2500 Utility” icon located on the taskbar (bottom right-hand portion of screen – icon is the box with a numeral “1” in it) to generate a drop-down list.

2.) From the drop-down list select “use config2500 as configuration utility”.

3.) Next, click on the start menu (lower left-hand corner of computer screen), go to settings, then go into the control panel and select “administrative tools”.

4.) Double-Click on the services icon.

5.) Scroll down and select “windows zero configuration”.

6.) Switch the startup type to “Manual”.

7.) Confirm that the wireless conflict has been resolved. If not, proceed with signal booster installation (previously provided).
