EW providing ICT equipment and computer hardware for deployment in sub-Saharan Africa schools through NEPAD partnership
The NEPAD e-Schools Initiative is a flagship undertaking aimed at ensuring that African youth graduate from African schools with the skills that will enable them to participate actively in the global information society and knowledge economy. EarthWalk, as a member of the CISCO consortium, has been actively involved in the deployment of Information and Communication Technoloogy (ICT) equipment and computer hardware in Africa via the NEPAD e-School Demonstration Project.
EarthWalk also joined forces with CompuTainer — another NEPAD consortium member and South African-based company that works with companies, governments and donor organizations in Africa that wish to provide the means to raise the levels of awareness of their local communities on HIV, AIDS and TB — to provide e-Health content where no infrastructure or electricity is available. Access is provided via EarthWalk’s wireless systems, which can deliver the e-Health content anywhere.
