Samples of Successful Grants

Are you wondering how to develop a proposal for one of those wonderful U.S. Department of Education grants? Here are samples of approved proposals.

Woodley Hills ES in Fairfax County, Virginia, has applied for a 21st Century Community Learning Center grant (in .pdf format). This grant expands their pilot program to all 5th grade classrooms in Woodley Hills and to two other schools with needy populations. The funds will allow these schools to create after-school learning centers that focus on technology literacy for their students and their families.

A successful grant proposal (in .pdf format) that awarded Menchville HS of Newport News, VA, the funds needed to purchase several NetWize systems. These tools will be an integral part of their goals to maximize performance. Menchville HS is a 2000 US Department of Education Blue Ribbon School and a New American High School.

Fairfax County PS in Virginia submitted a proposal in June 2002 for the US DOE's Community Technology Centers" (425KB in .pdf format)program. This grant supports the daily use of technology by providing wireless laptop capability and connectivity at home and at school. After-school and summer sessions, and access to a website will foster the development of a virtual and a real world community.
