How to Safely Dispose of Used Batteries

Please recycle your used rechargeable batteries. Help create a cleaner and safer environment, that keeps harmful battery by-products out of landfills and the solid waste stream.

Rechargeable Battery Recycling Corporation
The RBRC educates the public and promotes the recycling of rechargeable batteries found in power tools, cordless and cellular phones, camcorders, laptop computers and digital cameras. Consumers, retail establishments, and public agencies can all play a role in significantly reducing the amount of batteries that enter our solid waste stream.

Battery Council International
BCI actively educates state and federal officials about the battery manufacturing and recycling industries in an effort to enact uniform battery recycling requirements. BCI also provides technical assistance to states when implementing battery recycling programs.

Portable Rechargeable Battery Association
The mission of the Portable Rechargeable Battery Association is to provide leadership in obtaining consistent domestic and international solutions to environmental and other selected issues affecting the use, recycling and disposal of small sealed rechargeable batteries.
